CANADA - in search of the legendary coastal wolves
Especially in the time where in Germany the topic of wolves is on everyone's lips and constantly new headlines appear, I traveled to the west coast of Canada at the age of 22 in 2018.
I have decided to search the barely known and yet legendary Coastal Wolves to find out how dangerous the animals really are to us humans!
It turned out, that this trip got an adventure and from this adventure, it developed to the journey of my life.
Again and again, I have had to fight my way through the tight temperate rainforests that house trees that are more than a thousand years old. For weeks I searched the shores with my little Zodiac for the ghosts, as I like to call the coastal wolves.
In my search I encountered some of the most majestic and largest animals this earth has to offer: orcas, humpback whales, black bears, sea lions, bald eagles, sea otters and many more.
But I did not just meet wonderful animals, also the Heiltsuk First Nation, one of 28 First Nation Tribes that live here on the west coast of Canada. They received me with incredible warmth and taught me a lot about their land, which they have been protecting for millennia!
Get an insight into the biotope of the Great Bear Rainforest that has never been shown in German-speaking countries before, where a wild ocean still meets wild land!
The premiere of my new live talk has been postponed indefinitely due to the Corona pandemic. Updates will follow.
